Balloon Dilation

If sinus pressure, congestion, headaches, or recurring infections keep coming back — even after sprays, rinses, antibiotics, or allergy treatment — there may be a structural reason your sinuses are not draining the way they should.

Balloon sinuplasty is a minimally invasive treatment designed to gently open blocked sinus pathways and help restore natural drainage — often right here in the office.

Breathe Better. Drain Better. Feel Like Yourself Again.

A Modern Option for Chronic Sinus Sufferers

For the right patient, balloon sinuplasty can be an exciting alternative to more traditional sinus surgery.

Instead of removing tissue or making larger surgical openings, a small balloon is carefully placed into the blocked sinus drainage pathway. The balloon is then gently expanded, helping reshape and widen the natural opening of the sinus.

The goal is simple: Open the sinus. Improve drainage. Reduce the cycle of pressure, blockage, and infection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is balloon sinuplasty surgery?

It is a minimally invasive sinus procedure. In many cases, it can be performed in the office.

Does it remove tissue?

Balloon sinuplasty widens the natural sinus openings. It generally does not involve the same tissue removal as traditional sinus surgery.

Is it painful?

Most patients feel pressure rather than sharp pain. Our excellent numbing protocols (local anesthesia) ensure that you remain as comfortable as possible for the short period of time required to perform it in the office.

How fast is recovery?

Many patients return to normal light activity quickly, but recovery varies. See our Post-Procedure Instructions HERE

Will it help headaches?

Sometimes. Especially weather related headaches are typically drastically improved, if not fully resolved. But not all headaches are sinus-related, so proper diagnosis is important.

Is it covered by insurance?

Coverage depends on your plan, symptoms, prior treatments, CT findings, and medical necessity criteria. Our office will work with your insurance to check coverage. If it is not covered, our Self-Pay rate will be quoted to you.
